The Youth Community Circle is comprised of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) youth aged 18-29 from across Manitoba. These youth are graduate students, new graduates, Junior Chiefs and youth representatives. The Youth Community Circle is the newest addition to the list of community circles as part of the VOICE Research Project, joining in July 2013. It has created a way for youth across Manitoba to have their voices heard.

The first success pathway chosen by the Youth Community Circle was an Indigenous Youth Forum on leadership and educational success. This success pathway allowed 50 FNMI youth to come together to make their voices heard on the meaning of educational success and youth leadership.

A product of this forum was the Success Through Our Eyes – A PhotoVoice Project booklet.  The photovoice project was a community-based research project in which community participants documented educational success and leadership through photographic images.  The youth participants also told their personal story of how leadership and success were supported.
