Flin Flon Community Circle
The Flin Flon Community Circle is located on the border of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Flin Flon is a mining town and the economy is based on copper and zinc mining. The population is 5,592 of which youth (0-24 years) represent 38% of the population. The Flin Flon Community Circle joined the VOICE Project in June 2013. It is represented by the Flin Flon School Division. The Flin Flon Community Circle defined success for children and youth as academic achievement. The community circle identified two success pathways: Peer Partners – Aiding Transitions that pairs up older students as positive role models with younger students and Engaging All Kids, which is aimed at encouraging the participation of all Flin Flon School Division children in extra-curricular activities.
